Toyota may talk a big talk, but in nearly every category, the 2021 Nissan Murano knows how to run a race. Both crossovers offer an available all-wheel drive system, but the Murano speeds ahead with a larger standard engine (that produces more horsepower) and an ever-efficient Xtronic CVT®. Toyota has a reputation for engineering safe, reliable vehicles, but some of those safety features come at a hefty price tag — Rear Cross Traffic Alert, for example, costs more on the higher trims of the RAV4 but comes standard on the Murano S. Not only that, but the RAV4 only offers SofTex® upholstery, a synthetic leather material, while the Murano offers the luxury and comfort of semi-aniline leather-appointed front seats with diamond-quilted inserts.
