The new 2023 Nissan Pathfinder easily beats the new 2023 Volkswagen Atlas in this head-to-head matchup. While both models offer useful features like optional all-wheel drive and an available hands-free liftgate, the Nissan Pathfinder takes the lead when it comes to performance and convenience. Its EZ FLEX® Seating System features LATCH AND GLIDE® Technology,4 which allows the second-row captain’s chairs to slide forward and tilt in two simple movements for easy third-row access. This is even possible if one of the second-row seats contains a carseat! In contrast, the Volkswagen Atlas doesn’t offer a feature like this. The only way to access its third row of seats is by folding down the 60/40 split second row, which doesn’t sound very convenient to us.
