2021 nissan sentra
Now in Year 2 of its long-term redesign, the 2021 Nissan Sentra continues to climb the mid-size sedan rankings as one of the most sought-after (and affordable) options on the market.

Although the second wave of adjustments didn’t include too much change for the Sentra, it’s clear Nissan aims to make this one of the class’ most intriguing contenders. With plenty of modern technology, comfort, and safety all wrapped in a gorgeous exterior, it’s hard not to overlook the 2021 Nissan Sentra.

2021 Nissan Sentra: What’s New?

Again, the 2021 Nissan Sentra only underwent minor updates as the Japanese carmaker continues to tweak one of its most popular offerings.

Among the most notable of changes is the addition of Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, allowing unsurpassed connectivity on the go even on the base model. The loaded SR trim also gets a new two-tone paint job that helps it stand out from the crowd even further.

The Sentra again features a bevy of standard safety features, including Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 suite that includes driver-assist technologies like automated emergency braking and lane-keep assist.

One of the most alluring aspects of the ongoing redesign is the 2021 Nissan Sentra’s interior, which features quality materials, beautifully crafted displays and gauges, and seating that is surprisingly comfortable considering the price.

2021 Nissan Sentra: Price

Speaking of price, there was also a minor adjustment to the price of the 2021 Nissan Sentra.

Up $100 from last year’s model, the latest iteration now starts at $19,460 for the base S model. The starting price can climb as high as $21,800 for the top-of-the-line SR model, which has a sporty feel and some added bells and whistles.

2021 Nissan Sentra: Safety/Technology

When it comes to standard safety features, not many companies do it better than Nissan. As was the case with the 2020 Nissan Sentra, the 2021 model comes standard with the Safety Shield 360 suite of driver-assist features.

On top of the aforementioned features, other technologies like high-beam assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert come standard. Additionally, adaptive cruise control and an all-around view camera system are optional on the SV and SR trims.

As if that wasn’t enough, the 2021 Nissan Altima also earned a five-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The interior of the 2021 Nissan Altima is a definite highlight, with the 7” infotainment display serving as the centerpiece. An upgraded 8” display, Bose stereo system, and Sirius XM radio are also available on all trims except the base S.

2021 Nissan Sentra: Other Specs

The 2021 Nissan Sentra is powered by a 2L four-cylinder engine that produces 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. All trims come with front-wheel drive, and are run through a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Estimates indicate the 2021 Nissan Sentra should get about 29 mpg city and 39 mpg highway, although those numbers fall a bit with the performance-focused SR trim. Either way, they’re terrific numbers that put the Sentra among the most fuel efficient midsize sedans out there.

Of course, if an eco-friendly option is what you seek, you should have the upcoming 2022 Nissan Ariya on your radar.

The redesign may still be an ongoing endeavor, but Nissan has already knocked it out of the park. With its lavish interior, suite of standard safety features and expanding array of technology, there’s little reason to leave the 2021 Nissan Sentra off your wishlist.
